DR. VICTOR IKEJI PLEDGES LOYAL SERVICE, EXPRESSES GRATITUDE TO PRESIDENT TINUBU AND GOVERNOR OTTI ON SWEARING-IN AS FEDERAL CHARACTER COMMISSIONER

Hon. High-Chief Victor Ikeji, _PhD,_has formally assumed office as a Commissioner of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) following his swearing-in ceremony conducted today by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, _GCFR,_ at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Reacting to the historic moment, Dr. Ikeji described the appointment as _”a solemn call to national service and a profound honour bestowed not just on his person, but on Ohuhu, Abia State, and Ndi Abia at large.”_

He expressed deep and heartfelt gratitude to the President for the confidence reposed in him, noting that the appointment reflects the President’s commitment to inclusivity, equity, and national cohesion, the core mandate of the Federal Character Commission.

_“I am deeply honoured by the trust placed in me by Mr. President. This opportunity to serve at the federal level is one I do not take lightly. I pledge to discharge my duties with integrity, fairness, and unwavering fidelity to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,”_ Dr. Ikeji stated.

Dr. Ikeji also paid glowing tribute to *His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, _OFR,_* Governor of Abia State, whose nomination made the appointment possible. He described *Governor Otti as* _“a leader of rare discernment and a superlative performer who consistently prioritises competence, merit, and capacity in public appointments.”_

_“I owe profound gratitude to my dearest Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, whose confidence in my capacity and character culminated in this nomination. His commitment to projecting the best of Abia State to the national stage is both reassuring and inspiring. I am proud to be associated with his vision-driven leadership,”_ he added.

The newly sworn-in Commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the sacred trust reposed in him, promising to deploy his experience, intellect, and sense of justice in promoting fairness and balanced representation in federal institutions, in line with the spirit and letter of the Federal Character principle.
_“This office demands impartiality, courage, and moral clarity. I am fully committed to ensuring that the Federal Character Commission remains a stabilising institution that promotes unity in diversity and gives every part of Nigeria a sense of belonging,”_ Dr. Ikeji assured.

He further thanked the people of Ohuhu and Ndi Abia for their prayers, support, and goodwill, describing the moment as _“a shared victory and a renewed responsibility.”_

Dr. Victor Ikeji concluded by reaffirming his readiness to serve Nigeria diligently, stating that history, opportunity, and duty have converged at this moment, and that he is resolved to justify the confidence placed in him.
