OHUHU WELFARE UNION (WORLDWIDE) CTC APPRECIATES SUPPORT FOLLOWING BURIAL OF DAME PEACE ONYEKWULECHI IGBOKWE
The Caretaker Committee (CTC) of the Ohuhu Welfare Union (Worldwide) has expressed deep appreciation to sons and daughters of Ohuhu Clan, friends, associates, and well-wishers for their overwhelming support and solidarity during the burial ceremony of Late Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe, mother of His Excellency, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu).
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, Barr. Hezekiah Nwokeocha, and the Secretary, High Chief Ihedioha Okey Onuoha, JP, the Union described the large turnout and orderly conduct at the burial as a profound demonstration of love, unity, and respect for both the Igbokwe family and the cherished values upheld by the late matriarch.
The Union noted that the successful burial ceremony, which took place on Saturday, 10th January, 2026 at the Umuawa Alaocha Primary School Field, reflected the enduring communal spirit of Ohuhu people and the high esteem in which Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe was held during her lifetime.
The Caretaker Committee further thanked God for granting journey mercies to all attendees who travelled from far and near, and for ensuring a peaceful, hitch-free, and well-coordinated ceremony.
The Union also commended the exemplary conduct of Ohuhu sons and daughters throughout the event, which reinforced the clan’s reputation for unity, hospitality, and orderliness.
While once again sympathising with Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu) and the entire Igbokwe family, the Ohuhu Welfare Union prayed that God continues to grant them strength and comfort, and that the noble legacy of Late Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe remains a source of inspiration to all.
