Abia @34: Hon. Akaliro Salutes Founding Fathers, Urges Citizens to Embrace Voter Registration
As Abia State marks its 34th anniversary, the member representing Umuahia North (Ohuhu) State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro, has paid glowing tribute to the founding fathers of the state, commending their vision and sacrifices that led to the creation of Abia on August 27, 1991.
Hon. Akaliro described the day as a moment of reflection and renewal for Abians, stressing that the state’s founding fathers laid a solid foundation of unity and resilience upon which the present generation must continue to build. He noted that the progress being witnessed in the state is a testament to their courage and foresight.
The lawmaker also called on citizens to take advantage of the ongoing continuous voters registration exercise, describing it as a civic responsibility that would empower Abians to shape the future of the state through active participation in democratic processes. According to him, the strength of Abia’s democracy lies in the people’s ability to make their voices count at the polls.
He further urged youths and first-time voters not to be left out, reminding them that securing their voter’s cards is the first step toward enthroning credible leadership. Hon. Akaliro pledged his continued commitment to policies and legislation that would drive development in his constituency , Ohuhu and Abia at large.
