Abia Arise Nkwoachara Ward Leaders and Stakeholders Meet; Drum Support For Gov. Otti

Abia Arise Nkwoachara ward leaders and stakeholders convened on Sunday, 24th August 2025, at the residence of Chief Chukwunenye Nwaubani, Chairman of the Nkwoachara Stakeholders Forum, to strategize on expanding the organization’s presence across the ward. The meeting also provided a platform to promote the good works and indelible development strides of Governor Alex Otti, highlighting the impact of his administration on communities across Abia State and reinforcing the importance of grassroots support through Abia Arise.

The Nkwoachara ward coordinator, Hon. Chukwudike Abraham (Zamalek), praised Governor Otti for developmental projects benefiting the ward, including the Umuahia-Iskwuiato-Ohafia road. He also commended the appointments of Hon. Magdalene Ugoanusi, SSA on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and Ekejiuba Ekpo, Acting General Manager of the Abia State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), noting their roles as crucial in facilitating state development at the grassroots level.

In her address, Hon. Magdalene Ugoanusi emphasized that leadership is not about self-interest but service to the people. She urged the Abia Arise leadership to help cascade government programs and policies to all communities, stressing that leaders hold power in trust for the people and must understand and respond to their needs. She also commended the synergy between Abia Arise and the Labour Party in the ward.

Ekejiuba Ekpo, Acting General Manager of Abia CSDP, reaffirmed his commitment to the growth of Abia Arise in the ward, noting that the agency would continue to support initiatives aimed at improving community development and ensuring that grassroots voices are included in governance.

Chief Chukwunenye Nwaubani, host of the meeting and Chairman of the Nkwoachara Stakeholders Forum, applauded the ward leaders and stakeholders for their unity and dedication. He pledged his continued support for Governor Otti and Abia Arise, promising to provide a befitting office space for the organization in the ward to strengthen its local presence.

Dr. Sylvester Ibeneme, State Secretary of Abia Arise, lauded the unity and commitment of the ward leaders, highlighting the movement’s inclusive ethos and its role in supporting Governor Otti’s vision and sustaining his transformative development agenda.

The meeting concluded with a strong collective pledge from leaders and stakeholders to support Governor Otti’s re-election in 2027, reflecting how Abia Arise, through its ward chapters, continues to play a pivotal role in promoting good governance, community-focused leadership, and the implementation of state-wide development initiatives.
