OWU CTC Screens Aspirants Ahead of Elections

The Ohuhu Welfare Union (OWU) Caretaker Committee (CTC), led by its Chairman, Barr. Hezekiah Nwokocha, and Secretary-General, High Chief Okechukwu Ihedioha, on Sunday, April 12, 2026, successfully conducted the screening of all aspirants ahead of the forthcoming OWU elections scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2026.

The screening exercise was thorough and transparent, with all aspirants subjected to rigorous questioning by members of the screening committee.

The process was aimed at verifying their qualifications, competence, and eligibility to contest for various positions in line with the zoning arrangements within the union.

The committee emphasized the importance of credibility, integrity, and commitment to the ideals of the Ohuhu Welfare Union, noting that only candidates who meet the required standards would be cleared to participate in the elections.

The exercise marks a significant step in ensuring a credible and orderly electoral process, as the union prepares to usher in a new leadership.

As part of the next phase of activities leading to the elections, successfully screened candidates will present their manifestos to members of the union and the general public.

This event is scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 12:00 noon, at the Umuawa Alaocha Civic Center.
