Nwoke-Ekpo Family Distributes Bags of Rice, Beans, Cooking Condiments to Umueke Women for Christmas

In the spirit of the yuletide season, the Nwoke-Ekpo Family of Umueke, Umuyota, Umuawa-Alaocha, Ohuhu, Umuahia North, has once again extended its annual Christmas goodwill to women of Umueke village through the distribution of bags of rice and other cooking condiments.

The initiative, now in its fourth consecutive year, is aimed at supporting families to celebrate Christmas with joy and dignity.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Chief Chibuzo Ekpo explained that the gesture reflects the family’s commitment—both those at home and in the diaspora—to give back to their immediate community, particularly during the festive season. He assured the beneficiaries that the outreach would continue by God’s grace and even improve in the years ahead.

In her remarks, Mrs.Onyeje Helen Ekpo emphasized that the food gifts represent the collective resolve of the entire Nwoke-Ekpo Family to share the joy of Christmas with their kinsmen and women.

She wished the women and the entire people of Umueke a joyous Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year.

The women of the community expressed deep appreciation to the Nwoke-Ekpo Family for the timely support, offering prayers for God’s protection, blessings, and continued increase upon the family.

Also speaking at the event, the Village Head, Chief Ikedichi Charles Eluwa, Eke 1 of Umuyota, commended the family for the thoughtful initiative. He noted that focusing on women was particularly impactful, as every woman is a wife or mother—ensuring that the benefits of the gesture reach entire households.

He concluded by praying for the family’s good health and sustained prosperity.
