Geoffrey Nnaji Resigns as Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology
The Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, has resigned from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet. His resignation, tendered in a letter on Tuesday, comes amid allegations reportedly leveled against him.
Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve the nation, noting that he had been a target of blackmail by political opponents.
In accepting his resignation, President Tinubu commended Nnaji for his service to the country and wished him success in his future endeavours.
The announcement was confirmed in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on October 7, 2025.
