The Nkwochara Ward Chapter Abia Arise held its maiden meeting yesterday,, Sunday, 8th June 2025.

The meeting, which was organized by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs, hard in attendance, the honourable member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha.

The Federal lawmaker, Hon. Obi Aguocha, in his speech during the meeting, applauded the Abia Arise Leadership and Labour Party Leaders in Nkwochara ward for coming out in mass. He assured them that Nkwochara ward would get its fair share of projects and programs from his office. He also made a cash donation to support the growth of Abia Arise in the ward.

On her part, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Magdalene Ugoanusi, who organised the meeting yesterday at Umuawa Alaocha civic hall called for inclusive participation within the Abia Rise/labour party political structure in Nkwochara Ward.

She emphasized the need for unity and openness.
Hon. Ugoanusi, who hails from Nkwochara Ward, reiterated the people-focused vision of Governor Alex Otti’s administration. She described the Abia Rise platform as a vehicle for grassroots engagement and charged the ward executives to carry every member along in the implementation of the governor’s agenda.

“As Apostles of Governor Otti, it is your duty to engage the grassroots, carry everyone along, and bring more people on board,” she said.

The event marked a significant step in reinforcing the presence and objectives of Abia Rise at the ward level.

Present at the meeting was The Eze Elect of Umuyota, Chief Sonny Nlewedim, the coordinator, Abia Arise, Nkwochara ward, Mr. Chukwudike Abraham, the councillor representing the ward, Hon. Uchechukwu Onyemachi, Chairman Nkwochara Ward Stakeholders Forum, Chief Chukwunenye Nwaubani, the Labour Party ward chairman, Nnaemeka Ekechukwu, all Excos of Labour Party and new Excos of Abia Arise, amongst other stakeholders and supporters leaders were in attendance.
