Hon.. Akaliro Offers Scholarships to Constituents; As Management of Ofeme College Visits |#Ikoro 93.3FM

The Honourable Member representing Umuahia North (Ohuhu) State Constituency, Hon. Barr. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro has announced a scholarship program for Ohuhu indigenes who intend to enrol at the Federal College of Education, Ofeme. This scholarship will cover tuition fees and other related expenses.

The lawmaker made this announcement during a meeting with 100 students his office has enrolled in this year’s examination at his constituency office located at Ola-Edo Plaza, Ekeoba Junction, Opposite NNPC Mega Filling Station.

While addressing the gathering, which included the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education, Ofeme, led by the Provost, Dr. Titus Ezeme, Hon. Akaliro emphasized the importance of utilizing the institution located within their community. He encouraged residents to take advantage of the educational opportunities available at the school.

Hon. Akaliro also urged those who took the JAMB examination and did not achieve the scores required for university admission not to be discouraged. He assured them that they could pursue their education at the Ofeme College of Education, with all school fees and related charges being fully covered by him.

Additionally, he encouraged students to choose any skill they wish to learn, promising to pay for their training fees, while also supporting those who already possess skills to become self-reliant. He stressed the importance of every young person acquiring a skill to support themselves.

Dr. Titus Ezeme, the Provost of the College, commended Hon. Akaliro for his dedication to his constituents and for his efforts to support the institution. He praised the lawmaker for his commitment to providing scholarships to students who enrol in the college, regardless of their number.

The Provost urged the students to seize this valuable opportunity to further their academic pursuits.

Hon. Nimbe Tawoshe, the Acting Chairman of the School’s Governing Council, also praised Hon. Akaliro for investing in the future of the community. He stated that the greatest investment anyone can make is in capacity development.

“What you are doing is true empowerment, and the returns on this investment are assured. This initiative is impressive and commendable, and the results will undoubtedly be evident shortly,” he concluded.
