Okiro Joins Igbokwe and Ndudim families in Mourning: Former Police Chief Attends Ndudim Funeral in Umuahia

A solemn atmosphere enveloped Umuawa-Alaocha Central School on Saturday as former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mike Okiro (Rtd) joined prominent Abia businessman and philanthropist, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu), and the Ndudim Abraham family in mourning the passing of businessman, Philip Ndudim.

The funeral service, held to honor the late Philip Ndudim, who was a kinsman of Mayor Igbokwe and sibling to media consultant Charles Ndudim, California State Superior Court Judge David Ndudim, and US-based medical practitioner Dr. Mrs. Beaulah Iroegbu, and her husband, drew a large gathering of mourners from across the region.

Okiro’s presence underscored the deep respect held for the deceased and the strong sense of community solidarity. He joined Mayor Igbokwe in participating in the funeral rites, offering condolences and sharing in the family’s grief.

Adding to the list of dignitaries was Rt. Hon. Kelechi Onuzuruike, a former member of the Abia State House of Assembly, reflecting the widespread recognition of Philip Ndudim’s impact. Mrs. Megdalene Ugoanusi, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, further highlighted the official acknowledgment of the loss within the state government.

The event also attracted prominent figures from the business and media sectors, including Mr. Emmanuel Okenini (E-Bello), CEO of De-Latinos, and media experts Alozie Alonzo Uzoukwu and June Nwabara. Their attendance demonstrated the diverse connections Mayor Igbokwe maintains and the broad reach of the Ndudim family.

The funeral service provided a moment of reflection and remembrance, bringing together individuals from various walks of life to pay their respects and offer support to Mayor Igbokwe and the Ndudim Abraham family. The outpouring of condolences and the presence of such distinguished guests emphasized the lasting impact of the late Philip Ndudim and the strong community spirit in Umuahia.
