Don Lulu Calls on Abia Students to Embrace Sports and Entrepreneurship; As NANS-JCC Football Competition Kicks-Off
Abia-born businessman, philanthropist politician, and United Nations Peace Ambassador, H.E Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu) has kicked off the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee (JCC) Inter-Campus Unity Cup amidst excitement on Tuesday 6th November 2024 at Abia State Polytechnic Field in Aba, Abia State.
During the kickoff, the United Nations Peace Envoy advised the students to be focused and embrace hard work to navigate today’s economic challenges.
Mayor Igbokwe urged them, to embrace practical skills in their academic learning.
“In today’s world, it’s essential to develop skills beyond the classroom,”. “Cultivate your God-given talents and focus on skills that can bring financial independence for you and your families” he posited.
The Sports competition organized by NANS-JCC, Abia State, is aimed at using sports to unite students from different campuses of tertiary institutions within the state.
Mayor Igbokwe’s team, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, celebrated a victory in the opening match, securing a win by one goal against their opponent.
He attended the event alongside guests such as Emmanuel Okenini (E-Bello) of Latinos Lounge in Umuahia, Orlando Okparaocha, and Abia Polytechnic Rector, Engr. Dr. C.K Okoro.
The philanthropist also donated generously to the event, highlighting his commitment to youth empowerment and sports development in Abia State.
He further encouraged students to get involved in local and national politics and stay away from drugs. “Focus on activities that foster unity, harmony, and mutual respect,” he admonished.
