Umuawa-Alaocha Now Available in Google Map; Courtesy of Umuyota Eze-Designate, High-Chief Nlewedim ( Sakwe)
Before now, the landmass known and called Umuawa-Alaocha was not available on Google Maps, some parts of this territory either read Nkwoegwu or Umuda-Isingwu. An Unfortunate incident that almost made us lose our land (Nkpuala) to Umuda Isingwu.
Recall that the first revocation notice of Nkpuala from the Abia State Ministry of Land and Housing read Nkpuala as Umuda-Isingwu; this was because our community, according to Google Maps, indicates Umuda.
This unfortunate incident spurred the Eze -Designate of Umuyota Autonomous Community, High-Chief Sonny Nlewedim ( Sakwe) to approach Goggle Nigeria to correct this error.
For the past months, the Eze-designate has been bringing Google Agents from Lagos to Umuawa and also taking care of their logistics, such as Flight fair and accommodation, as well as other logistics to ensure this erroneous act is corrected.
To the glory of God, this error has been corrected with your Google map you can now access Umuawa-Alaocha.
You can now conveniently navigate into Umuawa-Alaocha using your Google map. However, this did not come cheap; over #1,000,000 was expended to correct this error. A fee singlehandedly footed by the Eze-Designate of Uyota.
While this major issue has been sorted out, our community can now be read on Google Maps. However, the individual blocs, such as Ogwara na Umukaru, Umuyota and Umuezerola, with their 11 villages, are not yet captured on Google Maps.
What this means is that, for instance, if you get into Umuawa, and your destination is Umuorioko in Umuawa-Alaocha; google Maps cannot give you such directions yet.
The Google agents who handled the earlier job are demanding an additional #1,500,000 to add specific locations in Umuawa-Alaocha to Google Maps.
This is, therefore, an appeal to our brothers and sisters both at home and in the diaspora who are tech-savvy or have the technical ability to handle this task, should please come to the rescue, or good-spirited Awa sons and daughters who can also fund this project will be highly appreciated.
