Hon. Akaliro Calls For Urgent Intervention On Okpara Road
During the plenary session on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, the honourable member representing Umuahia North (Ohuhu) State Constituency, Hon. Barr. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro moved a motion of urgent public importance regarding the deplorable condition of Okpara Road and Eme Bridge in his constituency.
In his motion, Hon. Akaliro emphasized the economic significance of Eme Bridge and Okpara Road to both his constituency and the state as a whole. He noted that Okpara Road passes through several agrarian communities within his constituency; however, its poor condition is hindering food production and the transportation of agricultural products from these communities to the market.
Other lawmakers who spoke during the session expressed their support for the motion, which was subsequently referred to the House Committee on Works.
