Operation Crush Assures Umuawa People of Security Collaboration as Youth Leaders Visit

On Thursday, January 23rd, 2024, the Umuawa-Alaocha youth executive, led by Hon. Adindu Chizaram Lucky, paid a working visit to the Joint Security Task Force “Operation Crush” at their base in Umuahia. They were welcomed by the commander of the unit, Lt. O. Ogar.

During his speech, the Youth President expressed gratitude to the security task force for their commitment to maintaining peace and security in Umuahia and the surrounding areas, particularly in his community.

He emphasized that the collaboration is not intended to intimidate or humiliate anyone but rather to foster peaceful coexistence by ensuring that criminal elements are kept away from the community.

He pointed out that as a youth leader, he recognizes that young people are often used to perpetuate insecurity when they are idle and not engaged productively. To combat this, Hon. Adindu announced that his administration is developing programs aimed at engaging the youth productively with the support of community leaders and stakeholders.

He assured the security task force of the continued support from the youths of Umuawa-Alaocha.

In response, Lt. Ogar commended the Umuawa youth executives for their initiative to visit his team. He stated that effective security is challenging without collaboration from the community, which understands the local terrain. He assured the youth leaders of a swift response from his team whenever they were called upon.

Lt. Ogar also advised the Umuawa youth executives to remain vigilant and proactive in identifying and reporting security threats within their community.

In addition to the president, other executives who were part of the delegation included the Vice-President, Tochukwu Eluwa; Secretary, Ekechukwu Nnaemeka; and Treasurer, David Christian.
