The Director -General of the Abia State Orientation Agency ( ABSOA), Ms. Ure Abazie has called Ndi-Abia to Participate Massively in the last monthly sanitation for 2024, slated to hold today Saturday 21st December, 2024 from the hours of 7:00am to 9:00am .
The ABSOA boss wrote on her official Facebook page ;
“One of the priorities of the new Abia government, under the capable leadership of Governor Alex Otti OFR, is to ensure a clean, serene, and safe environment for all.
In just 18 months of this administration, Abia has transformed significantly; our streets are no longer littered with waste, and heaps of refuse are no longer a common sight.
While we are not yet where we want to be, we have made remarkable progress. We have moved from being one of the dirtiest states to being recognized as one of the cleanest in the federation.
The Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) has been restructured and revitalized to effectively manage waste collection, disposal, and overall environmental protection.
Our streets are now clean, and our drainages are flowing freely without obstruction from debris.
To ensure that this positive momentum continues, we all share the responsibility of keeping our immediate surroundings clean.
Today is the monthly sanitation for December— the last one for the year. Let’s come out en-mass to fulfil our civic duty.
Abia is on the rise, and there is a breath of fresh air in the state. Let’s sustain this momentum by maintaining a clean environment.
Please dedicate three hours today, from 7 AM to 10 AM, to clean your surroundings.
Avoid indiscriminate waste disposal; please drop your waste at ASEPA-designated pick-up points, and do not block the drainages.
Together, we can build the Abia of our collective dreams.
