Mayor Ikeji Reiterates Commitment to Improve Service Delivery in Umuahia North; As Traditional Rulers Confers Royal Service Award on Him
The Mayor of Umuahia North LGA, Hon High-Chief Victor Ikeji, Ph.D. has reiterated his commitment to improving governance and the quality of lives of the people of Umuahia North.
The Mayor reiterated this commitment as the Umuahia North Traditional Rulers Council, under the leadership of HRH Eze Innocent Nwaigwe, conferred on him a royal service award during the 2024 Umuahia North Iwaji (New Yam Festival) which held on Wednesday, 18th September 2024.
The Traditional Rulers, while conferring the award on the Mayor, described him as a worthy son who has performed creditably well since his appointment.
The monarchs further stated that the Mayor’s development strides are visible in all nooks and crannies of the council.
They assured him of their support and prayers to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots.
The event had in attendance dignitaries which included; the executive governor of the state, represented by the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Prince Uzor Nwachukwu, the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South, Hon. Obi Aguocha, the commissioner for Transport, Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu, Chief Charles Ogbonna, (Evulogu), Paramount Chief Charles Onwueme, traditional Rulers and other prominent sons and daughters from Umuahia and beyond, top government functionaries and captains of industries.
