Mayor Ikeji Pledges #50 Million For the Reconstruction of Okaiuga-Nkwoegwu Market
Hon. High-Chief Victor Ikeji Ph.D (Kpakpando-Umuahia), the Mayor of Umuahia North LGA, has pledged to dedicate the sum of N50,000,000 (fifty million naira) for the reconstruction of Okaiuga-Nkwoegwu Market.
The Mayor made the promise during this year’s Okaiuga-Nkwoegwu New Yam Festival held at the Okaiuga -Nkwoegwu Central School.
The Mayor, in his speech, stated that he is part and parcel of the Nkwoegwu community, sharing special relationships with the people by blood and political affiliation.
He called on the people of Nkwoegwu to unite for development. He cautioned all those trying to sow the seed of discords amongst brothers to desist from such.
On the market project, which he promised to renovate, he called on the leadership of Okaiuga–Nkwoegwu to come up with a proposal on how the market could be remodelled to serve the people of Ohuhu better.
Also present during the Okaiuga-Nkwoegwu Iri-ji ceremony includes; HRH Eze Nzewata Mbakwe, HRH Eze Benson Akazubuike, HRH Eze Paul Ofoegbu.
