Gov. Otti Aide Takes Changing Narrative To Ohafia: Calls For Those At the Grassroot to Embrace New Vision of Leadership<\/p>\n

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Magdalene Ugoanusi, has taken her \u201cChanging the Narrative\u201d campaign to Ohafia, calling on leaders and citizens at the grassroots to embrace a new vision of leadership anchored on transparency, accountability, and integrity.<\/p>\n

Addressing stakeholders in Ohafia, Ugoanusi lamented that local government administration in many communities has long been characterized by missed opportunities, broken promises, and disconnection between leaders and the people. She described this disconnection as a deeper threat to society than poverty or insecurity, warning that it represents a \u201csystematic destruction of our collective conscience.\u201d<\/p>\n

The governor\u2019s aide stressed the need for a paradigm shift in governance\u2014\u201cfrom secrecy to transparency, self-interest to public interest, complaints to constructive solutions, and short-term gains to long-term vision.\u201d She maintained that true leadership is not about occupying offices but about earning the trust of the people through service.<\/p>\n

Ugoanusi also emphasized the role of citizens in driving change, urging them to be informed, hold leaders accountable, and contribute ideas and efforts toward community development. \u201cGovernance is a partnership, and every voice matters,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Concluding her remarks, Ugoanusi charged Local government administrators to choose integrity, service, and passion in rebuilding local government institutions, stressing that history will remember not the challenges faced, but the solutions provided.<\/p>\n

The Special Guest Speaker, Kalu Agwu Kalu called for synergy amongst leaders at the local government to ensure development at the grassroots.<\/p>\n

Also speaking at event, The General Manager , ASEPA , Mazi Ogbonnia Okereke, the Director -General of Abia Orientation Agency , Lady Ure Abazie , the S.A on Digital Economy, Matilda Ayamiele , the S.A on Technology and Innovation Chibuzor Elizabeth Chijioke all made case for collaborative effort for overall development at the grassroots.<\/p>\n
