Anderson Akaliro, the Member representing Umuahia North State Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Public Petitions and Judiciary, has officially resigned from the party.<\/p>\n
In a resignation letter dated September 2025 and addressed to the APC Chairman of Umuahia North LGA, Hon. Akaliro cited persistent internal crises, factional disputes, and a lack of cohesive leadership within the party as key reasons for his departure. The lawmaker, the sole APC representative in the Abia State House of Assembly following the 2023 elections, expressed frustration over being marginalized and excluded from party activities, stating that he had never been invited to any meeting or event by the state APC leadership.<\/p>\n
