Umukabia Born Illustrious Son, Gaby Ikeji Retrofits Community Health Centre<\/p>\n

The Umukabia\u2013Ohuhu community in Umuahia North Local Government Area, Abia State, has received a major boost in healthcare delivery following the comprehensive retrofitting of its Community Health Centre by one of its illustrious sons, Lagos and Abuja-based legal practitioner, Barr. Gaby Ikeji.<\/p>\n

Before the intervention, the facility had been in a deplorable state, hampering effective healthcare services. Barr. Ikeji undertook an extensive renovation that covered nearly all aspects of the centre\u2019s infrastructure. He upgraded the interior and exterior, provided essential fittings, furnished it with hospital beds and equipments and ensured the facility was brought to modern standards suitable for patient care.<\/p>\n

The renovated health centre was officially opened for use in a brief but colourful ceremony attended by representatives of the Abia State Government, including the mayor of Umuahia north, Chief (Hon) Smart Ihuoma, the member representing Umuahia North constituency, Hon. Anderson Akaliro, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Ease of Doing Business, Barr. Agbonnma Ukaobasi and Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Local government and chieftaincy affairs, Mrs Magdalene Egondu, amongst others.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Barr. Ukaobasi commended Barr. Ikeji for his selfless contribution to the development of his community, noting that such gestures were vital in complementing government\u2019s developmental efforts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a shining example of community partnership in governance. Barr. Gaby Ikeji has set a standard, and I urge other well-meaning sons and daughters of Umukabia and Abia State to emulate this gesture by giving back to their communities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Community leaders and residents expressed their gratitude, describing the project as a lifeline that will enhance access to quality healthcare and reduce the burden on rural dwellers who previously had to travel far for medical attention.<\/p>\n

The upgraded facility is now open to the public and is expected to serve hundreds of residents from Umukabia and neighbouring communities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
