Delta Assembly Speaker, 21 Lawmakers Formally Defect from PDP to APC<\/p>\n
The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, along with 21 other lawmakers, on Monday formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n
During plenary, Speaker Guwor announced the receipt of 21 letters from members of the House declaring their intention to leave the PDP. He also formally presented his own letter of defection.<\/p>\n
Guwor stated that the decision was taken unanimously, citing unresolved divisions within the PDP\u2019s South-South Zonal Executive and the deepening crisis at the party\u2019s national level.<\/p>\n
